Clear steps
Learn which links work, what each format means, and why some videos cannot be saved.
Paste a link to one public video. Onezot checks its title, length, and available video or audio formats. Choose an option and save the file in your browser. You do not need an extension or account.
The original video sets the limit. A 480p upload cannot become true 1080p, and a private or deleted post cannot be made public. If a format is missing, try another available option or use the source platform's own download feature.
Check the title and preview before you choose a file. This helps you catch a link that opens the wrong video or a different post. The format list is based on what the source offers at the time you check it, so the choices can change later.
Choose up to 1080p for a large screen, up to 720p for everyday viewing, or up to 480p for a smaller file. The actual quality depends on the source. A vertical Short, Reel, or video Pin stays vertical.
For audio downloads, choose MP3 for broad device support, M4A for a smaller modern format, or WAV when you need an uncompressed output file. Converting audio to a higher bitrate or WAV does not improve the original sound.
An estimated file size is only a guide. The final file may be larger or smaller after the video and audio are prepared. If you have limited storage or mobile data, try a smaller available video option first. Onezot has a 500 MB limit for each download.
Use a direct link to one public video. Profiles, feeds, playlists, boards, and private groups are not single video links. These are the common link types Onezot checks:
youtube.com/watch, youtu.be, youtube.com/shortsinstagram.com/reelfacebook.com/watch and public post URLspinterest.com/pin and pin.itCopy the address from the video itself or use its Share button. A link to a channel, profile, playlist, search page, or Pinterest board can look similar but does not point to one downloadable video. Short links such as youtu.be and pin.it are accepted when they lead to supported public media.
Public access can change. A creator may remove a post, make it private, or limit it to a country or age group. If a link stops working, open it in a browser where you are signed out. If the video is not available there, Onezot will not be able to open it either.
Keep a copy of a public video or Short you posted, if the source makes a downloadable format available.
Save a Reel or video Pin when its owner has given you permission to use it.
Keep permitted public videos for a lesson or offline reference, with a note of the source.
Save media you are allowed to keep when you expect to have limited internet access.
The link check shows what may be available. When you choose a format, Onezot prepares that file from the public source. Some videos have separate picture and sound tracks, so a video download can take longer than the first link check.
Keep the browser page open while the file is being prepared. The time depends on the source, the file size, and your connection. If the source stops serving a format during this step, try analyzing the link again and choose another available option.
When the file is ready, your browser starts the download. It may ask you to choose a folder or allow the file. Onezot cannot choose your device's save location, so check the browser's Downloads list if you do not see the file right away.
Before sharing a saved video or audio file, check the creator's permission and the source platform's rules. Keep the original link with the file if you need to credit the creator or find the post later.
Open the link in a private browser window. If it opens a profile, feed, or sign-in page instead of one video, copy the video link again. A video may also be deleted, limited by region or age, or missing a usable format.
Onezot cannot open private accounts, paid content, or DRM-protected media. For restricted content, ask the owner for the file or use the platform's official save option.
A format can also fail after analysis if the source removes it or the file is over 500 MB. Analyze the link again, then try a smaller available quality. Live broadcasts are not supported while they are still running; try again after the broadcast ends and the recording is public.
Use Onezot in a modern browser on Android, iPhone, iPad, Windows, macOS, Linux, or ChromeOS. Your browser decides where the file is saved. Check its Downloads area if you cannot find it.
Larger video files need more storage and data. For a quick mobile copy, choose a smaller available quality. Keep the page open while the download runs.
On a phone, the saved file may appear in the browser's download list or in the device's Files app. On a computer, it usually goes to the folder set in your browser. If your browser asks where to save the file, choose a location you can find again.
Paste only public links you are comfortable sending to the service. Do not paste private links, account tokens, or someone else's credentials. Onezot does not ask for your social media password.
A public video is not automatically free to reuse. Save media you own, have permission to keep, or may lawfully use. Follow copyright rules and the source platform's terms.
Platform and format guide
Each platform uses different links and offers different formats. Check the guide below before downloading.
Open one public YouTube video or Short and copy its Share link. A youtube.com/watch, youtube.com/shorts, or youtu.be address can work. Paste it into Onezot and check that the title matches the video you meant to save. A channel page or playlist is not a direct video link.
YouTube videos can offer different picture qualities and separate audio tracks. After analysis, choose an available video option for viewing or an audio format for permitted listening. A higher number on a button is a target, not a promise that the original upload has that quality.
If a video is private, removed, region restricted, or only available after sign-in, Onezot may not be able to open it. Live broadcasts are not available until they end and a public recording exists. For your own uploads, the original file or YouTube's official tools may be the better source.
Use the link to one public Instagram Reel, usually an instagram.com/reel address. Copy the Reel's link rather than the account profile or your feed. Onezot checks the video details and shows a format only when the public source makes one available.
Reels are often vertical, so the saved video keeps the source shape. The file quality depends on the Reel that Instagram serves. Downloading a smaller copy can save mobile data, but it cannot add detail that was not in the original video.
A public profile does not mean every Reel is accessible to a downloader. Deleted, private, age limited, or login-only posts may fail. If you have permission to use a Reel but its link is restricted, ask the creator for the original file.
Paste a link to one public Facebook video or Watch page. A link copied from the video is more useful than a link to a page, group, or news feed. Before downloading, confirm the title and preview so you know Onezot found the right clip.
Facebook may offer more than one video quality, or it may offer only one. Choose from the options Onezot finds for that post. If you want a smaller file for a phone, try a lower available quality. Audio and picture quality still come from the source video.
Videos inside private groups, friends-only posts, and clips that require an account are outside Onezot's public-link workflow. If the link does not open in a signed-out browser, request the video from its owner or use a save option provided by Facebook.
Open one public video Pin and copy its pinterest.com/pin or pin.it link. Onezot checks the Pin for a video stream. A board link, search result, or image Pin will not provide a video file, even if the page contains moving previews elsewhere.
Video Pins may be tall or square. The downloaded file keeps the source video's shape, while the available file size and quality depend on the Pin. Some video Pins have no useful audio track, so audio choices may be unavailable.
If a short pin.it link leads to the wrong Pin, open it in your browser and copy the full Pin address. For moodboards, presentations, or offline reference, keep the creator's name and source link with any copy you are allowed to save.
| Choice | Maximum target | Output type | Useful for |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1080p | Up to 1080p | Video | Large screens or editing |
| 720p | Up to 720p | Video | Everyday viewing |
| 480p | Up to 480p | Video | Smaller files for mobile |
| Audio | Not applicable | MP3, M4A, or WAV | Listening or editing |
